Face Paint Designs - How To Make Them Stand Out

Face Paint Designs - How To Make Them Stand Out
By Philadelphia Tivoli

Whether you are painting face paint designs as a hobby for your kids, for your friends, or making a profit out of it by doing it in different parties and gatherings, face painting is truly an inspiring, interesting, and rewarding pursuit.

Aside from the skill of the face painter, the actual designs that are used during the face painting session are very important. This is because it will define the painter - his/her style, techniques, and specialization.

If you are just starting to face paint or you have had a little experience on this and you want to enhance your talent, you should start to focus on the more simple face paint designs.

To make your face paint designs stand out, they should all be unique in one way or another. Your designs can stand out if they are painted in a very unique and special way compared to others.

You can make unique designs by trying to come up with original ones. Coming up with designs that are truly yours can make them a standout because they cannot be seen in any other party or are not performed by any face painter. For you to be able to create your own designs, you should gather up all the designs that you have working on. Once you have gathered each design template, try to make some changes in the strokes that were used or add some lines and colors into it. You can also print out several copies of the original design template and work on it separately. Try to use blended colors as well adding extra accents into it.

For you to be able to think of new designs, it is a must that you spend time researching about the latest designs used by professional face painters so you can create your own variation of the design.

After practicing with the templates, now is the time for actual application. In trying out new designs to ensure that they will stand out, you can use yourself as a model or practice on a friends face.

After seeing the final product - either on yourself or on the model - you can now decide if it's appropriate for your target market or not. Separate the successful designs from those that are not and try to work on the latter so you can also use them.

To ensure that you can create unique face paint designs during your face painting practice, you should prepare the materials you need even before you get started. Making sure that you have brought enough face paint supply, several kinds of brushes and face paints, and water for mixing the colors will ensure that you will come up with the designs that you have.

One valuable tip to make your designs truly standout is by mixing face paint with the cosmetics or make up such as eyeliner, blusher, and eye shadow. If this combination is done properly, it will create good results and lasting effects. It will also help you save time because it will dry faster compared to pure face paint.

You can create easy designs using blusher because it provides a more natural and softer look. Eyeliners that come in different colors can also be used to because they give more defined lines and details compared to face paint applied using a brush. This is also easier and more manageable to use especially for starters because they dry quickly compared to the face paint.

You can also use eye shadow to create stand pit face paint designs because it can create a very soft and natural effect. It can also be used anywhere you like. Just like eye pencils, eye shadows also come it different colors. You can even mix and blend them with other colors of eyes shadows to create more unique effects.

Aside from using cosmetics, you can also make your designs standout by accentuating them with glitter, different colored gels, glitter gels and even fake blood Halloween designs.
